6 weeks to our departure

It's getting hectic with less than 6 weeks to our departure. We're still working hard to raise funds and make sure we can get all the gear we need. We made another payment to KMM our agency for part of the services last week.

As you can see, we finally went live with the website a little over a week ago, so now the challenge is to add to the blog and keep on top of the t-shirt requests.

Today Dave and I booked our tickets from JFK to Islamabad departing on June 11 and returning on Sept. 3. Andy, Dan, and Brian are working on their tickets as well. The trick will be to all end up in Islamabad as close to the same day as possible. Another challenge will be organizing and shipping the excess baggage. I've looked into some options with British Airways, either to get a discount on the excess charges on our flight or perhaps using their cargo option.

Andy and Brian have been looking into the details of high tech at high altitude - laptops, IPods, solar power, etc. It looks like we can expect a few problems.

I'm continuing to train and work. Linda and I had a great spring ski vacation in Utah and Colorado the last couple weeks. We spent most of the time skinning up and skiing down, but also had a couple awesome powder days at Snowbird.
